A music video I made for my old group Endless Scroll to co-incide with the release of our track Kinda Natural.
The video is an altogether different thing, broader perhaps, but I can to speak to what the song is about: my experiences growing up in Australia’s self-described counterculture capital, the grift and predation of Wellness and the capture of ‘red-pilled’ influencers within its ranks by conspiracy theory — Q.Anon, RFK Junior’s anti-vaxx pseudoscience, 5G, the lunacy of the North American media ecosystem; conspiritualists in general harbouring a puritanical and dysmorphic obsession with The Self. Then of course there’s always monstrosities like billionaire ‘health hacker’ Bryan Johnson, who are a great reminder of where the California Ideology came from, which class helped install it and how it exerts its pull on our neo-serf lives.

Inspired by the OVHCloud Data Center fire in Strasbourg in 2021, Pinch Point
is a 2-channel video work that re-imagines the incident from the perspective of Sage,
a fictitious blue-collar employee working nights at the facility.
Part free-association and part confessional, Sage recounts experiences
from her private life over public domain footage of a US defense program
in her namesake (Semi Automatic Ground Environment) that reminds us
of the military-industrial cosmogony of Silicon Valley.
